I have always dreamed I could fly when I slept. As a child it was one of my most common dreams at night.
This piece, entitled “Air bound,” was a piece of that inspiration. I wanted to share this at exciting feeling with you too! I feel like that dream-like notion was well captured in this painting. When I was 10 I was paralyzed from the waist down and felt like flying was entirely out of reach, and that I couldn’t have freedom to do anything. I wasn’t sure where my life would go and if I could make anything of myself.
But God freed me and showed me that my life had incredible value.
I believe, as I grew up, that I did, in fact, learn to fly.
Give this to one of your kids if you know they will fly one day too! Because, they will!
PS, I can walk now. I can even fly in my own heart. ❤️
