Kingfisher at Rest
When I was 10, I was paralyzed from the waist down. This was when I started watching and paining birds. They made me feel like I could get up and fly too, and made me so excited. Birds became a very special interest of mine, and I started watercolors to capture them.
My family put the bird feeders in front of the window where I could see them. I started taking their pictures to begin paintings and drawing.
This Kingfisher is a bird I studied from my wheelchair, reading books about them. They are another favorite of mine and I get so excited seeing them at the river.
This kingfisher belongs to a 6 painting set, but also can shine beautifully alone. Some of the others in the set have been already sold, but you can find the rest here on my website.
